Payment Questions
Can I pay any other way other than Paypal?
Unfortunately not. Paypal is the cheapest method of creating a payment subscription available - all other methods would increase your subscription fees. It also allows the ability to pay by credit card or direct debit from any bank account.

I am having problems with Paypal - can you help?
We cannot assist with Paypal issues unfortunately - but you can call them on 1800 073 263 which we find is quicker than emailing them.
Can I pay for a month and see if I like the service, or even pay monthly?
Yes! We now allow you to pay by the month - with no sign up agreements. Please note that if you subscribe paying monthly the 90 day satisfaction guarantee no longer applies, as you can cancel anytime now, nor do you receive the 5% members discount atbuybuildingsupplies.com.au
So if I sign up, and am not 100% satisfied - I can get my money back?
YES!! We offer a 90 day money back guarantee - If you aren't 100% happy with the service we will refund your payment. If we registered a domain name for you (your website name) then $50 will be deducted from the refund to cover this cost - but you do keep the domain name and it it is not due for renewal for another two years from the date of registration. The only condition of this guarantee is that you give the service a reasonable evaluation period of at least two months. If after that time period you feel the small monthly amount is not reasonable, then you have 30 days to contact us via our website here and we'll action the refund for you immediately. Note - this only applies to annual paying subscriptions.
Do you send an invoice that I can pay on receipt?
No - payments are done by automatic debit via Paypal. At the moment Paypal do not send a warning that they will be debiting the payment on a certain date - it is your responsibility to make a note of when you first register so that you know when the next payment will be made. Paypal will email you with a payment receipt.
I don't have a credit card - can I just send you a cheque instead?
You can either pay by credit card or set up a Paypal account that allows for payments to be made via any bank account. We do not accept any other form of payment.
So the only cost is the subscription cost .... nothing else?
Thats right - there are no other costs or charges other than the Paypal subscription. No commissions or anything else to pay.
SMS Joblead Questions
How do you work out who gets what leads?
The jobleads are sent to a group of members that best match the needs of the person needing a job done based on the job category (job type) and the area where the work is - you will receive jobs from within a 30km radius of your postcode.
How many joblead categories can I sign up for?
You can receive leads relating to a maximum of six categories per member registration. If you want to receive leads for more than this you simply sign up a second time
What area will I receive jobleads for?
The area is defined by your postcode. The jobleads are sent to the closest members to the postcode of the job suburb (up to a maximum of 30 km radius). If you prefer a different area please indicate this in the comments section of the registration for, preferrably by giving a suburb central to the area you wish to receive jobs for.
How many leads will I get a week?
We aren't able to give you any idea of how many leads you will get a week. There are way too many variables that affect this - what location you are in, what categories you want to receive jobleads for, what time of year it is, how many people want that work done at any one time! It's for this reason we keep the cost down to the absolute minimum plus bolster our service by offering a complete website package (and discounts off your materials) as well. These factors alone are worth the monthly cost.
Can I get leads for a bigger area?
Yes. To do this you simply register for more than one area as you will be replacing another potential member from receiving the leads for that area (it is only a small amount per month per area remember).
Am I the only one that receives a joblead?
No.The SMS are sent to a group of members depending on various factors, the job type, the location - even the time of year (more in the busier periods). The reason for this is so that if you are not interested or available for any joblead you receive you simply delete the message. We find on average that only one in every eight memebers respond to any job lead. A person needing a professional for any work will on average only ever receive 1-3 calls. If you were the only one to receive a joblead we would have to charge a heap more than we do, and you would be obliged to call the client needing the work done, even if you didn't really want to.
So I don't have to respond to a joblead that I receive?
No. You only call a person if you are interested and available for the work outlined in the joblead.
When should I call?
It is in your best interest to call a person as soon as you can, but it isn't compulsory to make it straight away. You call a person when you are ready. (another benefit of this service - you are not caught out by phone calls at the wrong time).
Do you get a commission on any joblead I respond to?
No.Our job is to connect people with the trades and professionals they need, and the trades and professionals with the work they want. Once we have done this you deal with any client exactly the same as you would normally.
Who do I call when I receive a joblead I am interested in?
You call the person needing the work done directly from th phone number you receive in the SMS message. There is no neeed to reply to the SMS, or read emails faxes or nything else.
Am I quoting to you or to the person needing the work done?
You are quoting directly with the person needing the work done. Not to us.
How long does it take for me to receive a joblead?
The jobleads are received usually within seconds of being lodged if within normal woring hours or whenever practical. Jobs needing urgent attention (emergency plumbing, glazing etc. are sent immediately 24/7 with applied discretion).
What if I accidentally delete a joblead I am interested in?
No problem - you can simply call us on 1300 TRADES (1300 872 337) and leave the details of the job and we'll resend it to you.
Can I tell you what size jobs I am interested in?
No. We send jobs based on trade category and location. Each job has an indication as to whether it is small, or large plus a brief job description. You decide whether you are interested or simply delete the message.
Can you send me the jobleads by email, or even call me with them?
No. We only send the jobleads by SMS. The main reason for this is that 99% of trades and professionals all have mobile phones, SMS is almost instant, You receive the details in writing (no more looking for a pen to jot someone's number down), and all members who receive the joblead receive it at the same tim to be fair on all involved.
Can I change the categories I receive jobleads for?
Yes - all you need to do is email us with what categories you want - we'll make the changes for you straight away. Please include your mobile number that you receive leads to in the email.
The Website Package
I have a website already - can I just receive the jobleads?
Yes. You can elect to just receive the SMS jobleads without setting up a website with us. To do this simply indicate "not applicable" in the registration form where we ask for what domain name you wish to register.
I already have a website - can you host this for me in the price you offer?
Yes - we will host it for you and manage your domain renewal for you at no extra cost. Click here for the info on how to go about this.
I already have a domain name registered - can I use this with your set up?
Yes. You can decide to either leave it where it is and we'll set it up so that it will display your website you build with our website sitebuilder, or you can transfer the domain over to us and we'll manage it for you, including paying the renewal fees for it on your behalf when they fall due.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is the name of your website. It is what a person types in to an internet browser to view your website - tradeconnect.com.au is our domain name.
Who owns the domain name if I sign up with you?
You do. We will register your domain name on your behalf and simply manage it for you - this means we look after the registration of it, the linking of it to your website on our server and will pay the renewal costs. You own it at all times.
If I cancel my subscription - will I lose my domain name and website?
No. If you decide to leave our service you can take your domain name and website with you. You may be up for a release fee of the domain name to cover the balance of any remaining period of it's current registration (maximum $50), and a transfer fee for us to transfer your website if required. Websites built using our sitebuilder tool can be transferred to a new host for you, but will no longer abe able to be edited.
What is a 'sitebuilder' and why do you offer 2 different ones?
A sitebuilder is a program that resides on our servers that will allow you to build a website very quickly and easily without the need to download any software or the need to have any special skills. It operates very much like a word processor, allowing you to edit titles, text paragraphs, upload images etc, then by simply hitting a button make those changes permanent in your website for all the world to see.
We offer 2 different types, each offering a different approach to building a website -EZbuild.com.au is a more flexible sitebuilder but is a little more complex to learn. TheMakeAwebsite.com.au sitebuilder has better templates and is easier to use, but is a little more restricted in what you can and can't do with it.
How do I set up my new email addresses?
We'll set up the first email address (either your name or info@yourdomain) in our system for you. If you prefer a different one simply indicate this in the comments of the registration form. You can have up to 4 others as well - just let us know at any time what they would be, including the password for each one, and we'll set them up for you as well. We have instructions in our support forum at makeAwebsite.com.au on how to set up your computer to receive the emails sent to these email addresses.
Who builds my website - do you do this for me?
No. We offer you a very simple-to-use website builder tool that allows you create your own website very quickly and easily. You simply pick a look that you like, the colours that you want and the pages that you want. You then add the wording and photos to make it your own, hit the publish button and you have a new website! If you feel it's not your thing, you'll find that your wife or even one of your kids will enjoy doing it and knock up a professional look ing site without a problem.
Is the website part of your website or is it a stand alone set up?
The website you set up is a complete, stand alone website exactly the same as if you went and registered the domain name yourself, then set up hosting with someone, then got a designer to build you a website, ending up costing you a sh*tload more than the $19.95 a month we charge
I'm too busy to build the website - do you know anyone who can do it for me?
No sorry - we are flat out setting up the sites, sending the jobleads and helping those that are in the middle of building their websites. I'm sure if you think about it you will come up with someone that will be happy to give it a go for you - it is a lot of fun to do and only takes a few hours to get a site up and running.
Can I put photos of my work on the website?
Absolutely! You can upload as many photos as you want - before and after photos, your company logo etc. There is no limit to the content type, size and style of each page in your site.
What do I do if I need help making my website?
Apart from the detailed help pages within the website builder program, we also offer a comprehensive support forum to answer specific questions you may have. Heaps of answers are there already, and as more and more people use the forum, it gets better and better with every posting made -click here to view this forum
